Tulip, more than the name of a flower, the name of your next gourmet break in Brussels...

Just a few steps from the iconic Cinquantenaire, you'll find a small café with the sweet name of Tulipe on the corner of two streets.
I met Chloé who set up this great project a few years ago, and from the terrace, the hot drinks and snacks, I'll show you what make many people happy.
1/ Smells, tastes, happiness
To be perfectly honest, I discovered this little café by chance, on my way to Bouboule —in my opinion, the best ice cream in Brussels. What first caught my eye was the shape of the building: nestled on the corner of two quiet streets, Tulipe unfolds in a triangular space bathed in light thanks to its large windows. It feels like a warm alcove, enveloped in delicious aromas.
That day, I made a detour for a chai latte (I don't drink coffee). The steaming glasses I saw on the tables weren't lying: from the first sip, a sweet, spicy warmth passed through my throat, full of comfort and taste.
I couldn't stop there: a little cake was a must. Sorry, Bouboule, the ice cream will have to wait for another visit... My choice fell on the banana cake—soft, slightly warm, perfectly balanced. I savored it without restraint, bite after bite, spoonful after spoonful.
2/ Behind these tastes Chloé, and some photos
It was via Instagram that I decided to contact Tulipe to ask them to take some photos of this place which, from my first visit, had deeply calmed me and made me want to taste every detail of the menu. After a few warm exchanges with Chloé, a small photo session was naturally organized a few days later.
That day, I discovered even more sweet treats — and I noticed a raclette cheese croque pass by… Unfortunately, I didn't have time to try it. And when I came back, I was told that it was no longer on the menu: a specialty reserved for winter. Too bad, I console myself by telling myself that it's one of the rare pleasures of the gray season: finding raclette cheese everywhere… even in croque-monsieur!
You can find all the photos from this session [right here]. But the best thing to do is go there for yourself, sit down at a table, enjoy, and tell me what you thought. And most importantly: what specialty should I try on my next visit?
3/ What's next?
By the way, I'm Julien—a photographer, traveler, and a great lover of good things. Through my images, I try to capture the essence of these little corners of Brussels that I love so much, but also the beauties I encounter in Europe... and sometimes a little further afield.
If you enjoyed this getaway to the Tulip, I invite you to discover my portfolio . And if one of my photos speaks to you, know that it is possible to take it home with you: I offer prints on demand, in the format that best suits your living room, your bedroom, your entrance… or even your toilets (the walls deserve a little poetry there too, don't they?).
