California : Colors of Emotions
Discover California through my film lens, capturing the essence of every moment with Jacques, my trusty Canon AF 35M.
From the sunny beaches of Santa Monica to the mysteries of Yosemite, every shot taken on Portra 400 ISO film reveals the magic of a unique road trip. Let yourself be carried away by the energy of San Francisco, the gentleness of Palm Springs, and the grandiose landscapes of the Pacific Coast Highway.

It was the first time I ventured so far on the American continent. A departure from Brussels, with a change of vehicle in London, then a night in an Airbus A380 before waking up 11 hours later on the other side of the planet. Moreover, I recount the whole trip in detail, day by day, in this blog article .
Here, the order of the photos does not perfectly follow the course of the trip, but shares colors that reflect the emotions I experienced while traveling through California, from Los Angeles to Joshua Tree National Park, via San Francisco and Palm Springs.
What struck me the most, I think, were these colours. In Brussels, grey often prevails, and when the sky remains overcast, few colours manage to dominate. Here, it's quite the opposite: even during the few days of grey skies, the colours of the buildings, attractions or nature brought pep to everything around us. And that's why I didn't need to retouch my photographs: they are raw, straight from the film, digitised by a small photo studio called Les Années Lumière .
